Tiny Survivor Gives Hope

Posted Feb 8, 08 2:15 PM CST in US

(Newser) – For the community of Castalian Springs, Tenn., one of many badly battered by twisters this week, 11-month-old survivor Kyson Stowell has become a symbol of hope, the Chicago Tribune reports. "He's just a miracle, luck, God watching over him—it's all it can be," said grandfather Doug Stowell.

Rescue worker David Harmon recalled the experience of finding Kyson in a field: "We didn't have time to stop and think," he said. "Our natural instinct was to do what any parent would have done in this situation: comfort the child and let him know that everything is OK. It gives me a good feeling to know I did my job."
