(Newser) – Note to reporters thinking of interviewing Joan Rivers: Don't ask her to defend her edgy humor or her affinity for fur. After CNN Newsroom host Fredricka Whitfield did just that Saturday night, Rivers angrily cut the interview short. "This whole interview is becoming a defensive interview," she said. "I'm going, I really am going, because all you have done is negative. ... You are not the one to interview a person who does humor, sorry." Whitfield's response after Rivers stormed off: "Are we serious? Oh boy, yeah, she was serious." Rivers, who was there to promote her new book, tells the Hollywood Reporter it wasn't a stunt: "The CNN interviewer was a news reporter and not an entertainment reporter," Rivers says in a statement. "She did not seem to understand we were talking about a comedy book and not the transcripts from the Nuremberg Trial."

the reporter or what ever she is was trying to get back at her because Joan said that michelle obama is actually a man ( transvestite ), so the reporter being black, she took it as a racist comment, cause that's what they all do, or maybe the reporter is a transvestite too ;)

Well, Letterman walked out on Joan last night... and he stayed out. Joan (the ad lib queen she is) took over and had the audience dying with laughter running her jokes. Then, she took the show to a commercial. YOU GO, GURL! I think it was staged, but so cute, and it did send a message to the young individual who interviewed her in a smart-alecky fashion. ...and Joan went: "Wait a minute! I did not come here for this, and no one told me it was going to happen... humpf showcasing on me! I'm outta here, and it serves you right." ...and Joan went.

CNN should fire that wench who did the interview! Her job is to interview, not to condemn.
