Justin Bieber's antics can be enough to put you off your Wheaties, but his music is apparently enough to scare off a rampaging brown bear: Russian fisherman Igor Vorozhbitsyn was walking to a spot in the Yakutia Republic when "there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me," he tells the Daily Mail. Vorozhbitsyn thought his time had come as the bear tore at his face, chest, and stomach. Luckily, his granddaughter had decided to play a joke on him and programmed Bieber’s hit, "Baby," as his ringtone. And in another stroke of luck, someone called him—sending the bear fleeing into the woods. "Sometimes a sharp shock can stop an angry bear in its tracks and that ringtone would be a very unexpected sound for a bear," says one wildlife expert. Vorozhbitsyn used the life-saving phone to call for help. No word on the bear's thoughts on One Direction. (More ringtones stories.)
