(Newser) – This is really happening. George Timothy Clooney, 53, and Amal Ramzi Alamuddin, 36, will soon be tying the knot in Italy, according to the marriage license recently spotted outside Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, reports the AP. A register office spokesman confirmed "that the couple posted a legal document for a British national who is marrying abroad." The license, which was sealed behind glass, also noted the couple's occupations: Alamuddin practices law in London, notes ABC News, and Clooney is listed as, well, "actor and director." The license was taken down after its required 21 days on display, notes the AP—but Dlisted has a photo of what appears to be the document.

Has no one here heard that this is an arranged marriage for political purposes? Look out, California and the U.S.!

Best wishes George. I really like him one of the most intelligent actors in Hollywood.

Ha, ha! Gay boy making a gigantic leap from bimbo to super-smart intellectual. Wow! Good for him, but with celebrity marriages typically under tremendous pressure due to work/career, travel, time apart, etc, I daresay he has an uphill task to make this last.
