Not all celebrity babies are carried inside a celebrity—HLN rounds up 11 times stars used a surrogate mom. A sampling:

  • Ricky Martin: His twin boys, Matteo and Valentino, were born with the help of a surrogate mom in 2008.
  • Neil Patrick Harris: He and David Burtka had, yes, twins—Gideon and Harper—via surrogate in 2010.
  • Dennis Quaid: He and wife Kimberly Buffington also became parents to twins via surrogate. Thomas and Zoe were born in 2007.

  • Robert De Niro: His daughter with wife Grace Hightower, Helen Grace, is one of three of De Niro's kids born via surrogate.
  • Angela Bassett: She and Courtney B. Vance became parents to Bronwyn Golden and Slater Josiah, via surrogate, in 2008.
