Villanova Ends No. 13 UConn's 10-Game Run

Georgetown routs Cincinnati, Marquette crushes Rutgers

(Newser) – Villanova ended No. 13 Connecticut's 10-game winning streak with a 67-65 Big East win over the Huskies today, reports the Hartford Courant. Scottie Reynolds led the way for the Wildcats with 15 of his 18 points in the second half. The Huskies erased a 13-point deficit with 7:42 left, but the Wildcats retook the lead moments later. In other Top 25 action:

  • No. 12 Georgetown took over sole possession of first place in the Big East with a 73-53 win over Cincinnati. Jessie Sapp lead the Hoyas with 16 points.
  • No. 25 Marquette used a 16-4 run in the middle of the game to blow out Rutgers 78-48 for the Golden Eagles fourth straight win.
