A former Ohio police officer convicted last week of murdering his pregnant girlfriend yesterday begged a jury not to sentence him to death. "I'm asking you to spare my life," said a sobbing Bobby Cutts Jr. The jury begins penalty deliberations this afternoon, reports the Canton Repository.
"Words cannot bring them back, nor can they erase the pain I've caused, but I want to apologize," Cutts said. His mother, father, sister, and a psychologist testified on Cutts' behalf, CNN reports. The jury must choose between a life sentence with or without parole and the death penalty.
