Vet Warriors Top Rookie Sonics

Ellis, Davis outshine Durant, Green in 105-99 result

(Newser) – The Seattle SuperSonics, though one of the NBA's worst teams, played competitive basketball in the first half of their game against Golden State last night. But the Warriors surged in the third quarter to leave the Sonics behind 105-99, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Baron Davis (20 points) and Monta Ellis (30 points) had help from an unlikely source.

Austin Croshere, a 10-year vet frequently sidelined with injuries, put in a perfect 22 minutes, collecting 14 points and five rebounds without once missing a shot or turning the ball over. Sonics rookies Kevin Durant and Jeff Green each put up 21 points, with Nick Collison adding 20 more, but Seattle's 0% three-point shooting and 25 turnovers were too much to overcome.
