Any doubters in Dallas have likely changed their tune after Jason Kidd nearly snagged a triple-double in the Mavericks' 115-106 domination of Sacramento. The Mavs put the leap in Leap Day, with Kidd grabbing 11 boards, Dirk Nowitzki hauling in 10, Josh Howard getting nine, and Erick Dampier leading with 13, the Sacramento Bee reports. In other hoops news:

  • Chicago had a 52-32 lead near the end of the second quarter, before a catastrophic implosion left them looking up at Washington from the wrong side of a 97-91 decision.
  • A 116-95 win against Memphis gives Houston its 14th straight and only the second perfect month in franchise history, thanks partly to Tracy McGrady's 25 points.
