Ireland Baldwin recently checked into rehab "to just get away for a little bit" and deal with "emotional trauma"—and Radar rounds up 10 other celebrities who've been hospitalized, sometimes involuntarily, for mental health issues:

  • Britney Spears was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold in 2008, after her infamous head-shaving incident and other strange behavior in 2007.
  • Demi Lovato admitted there was once a time she couldn't make it an hour without doing cocaine, but she went to rehab, plus got treatment for bipolar disorder and bulimia, in 2010.

  • After Glitter got panned in 2001, Mariah Carey reportedly had a meltdown on camera while appearing on TRL and ended up hospitalized. She's since denied that she had a nervous breakdown and says she was just "exhausted."
  • Mischa Barton, on the other hand, has admitted she had "a full-on breakdown" in 2009. She ended up in a psych ward under an involuntary psychiatric hold.
  • Roseanne Barr said in 2001 that she'd been "hospitalized several times" for multiple personality disorder.
