(Newser) – An unmanned SpaceX supply rocket bound for the International Space Station exploded soon after lifting off this morning, reports CNN. It's still too early to figure out what happened. Though it's not the first time a supply rocket has met this fate, it's the first time for a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission, notes TechCrunch. Worse, the company hoped today would result in a big milestone: It was trying for the third time to have the booster rocket return safely to earth for reuse. The company had just missed on its last attempt and was confident heading into try No. 3.
