(Newser) – "When we don't match the level of intensity, we struggle—especially defensively," said Nuggets coach George Karl—and his team certainly did struggle against a whirlwind Jazz team that triumphed 132-105. Utah's 11 three-pointers left them with a 73% record from beyond the arc, better than the team's overall field goal and free-throw rates, reports the Denver Post. Elsewhere in the NBA:

  • Dallas ended a three-game slide with a 111-91 victory over Jason Kidd's old New Jersey teammates in a game that saw Dirk Nowitzki set the Mavericks' new all-time scoring mark.
  • The desperate Clippers weren't able to take down the league's worst road team, and Minnesota left LA with a 99-96 win.
