Members of Generation "Y Do We Always Get a Bad Rap?" (aka millennials) take great umbrage at being labeled unmotivated slackers, and Wealth-X's list of the 20 richest people under the age of 35 may help put that stereotype to rest. MarketWatch points out some of them share common traits—eight of the top 20 come from the tech field, for instance, while 11 of the top 20 are from the US—but what bonds the group as a whole is that they all boast a net worth of over $1 billion.

At the top of the list (and way ahead of all the others): Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who clocks in with a net worth of $41.6 billion. Here are the others who make the top five:

  • Mark Zuckerberg, 31: He gets a "self-made" tag for his fortunes.
  • Dustin Moskovitz, 31: This ex-Facebook co-founder who then went on to co-found Asana has amassed $9.3 billion.
  • Yang Huiyan, 34: A Chinese native, this daughter of a real estate magnate can mainly thank an inheritance for the $5.9 billion she's got.
  • Eduardo Saverin, 33: Another Facebook co-founder, this Brazilian national breaks the top five with $5.3 billion.
  • Scott Daniel Duncan, 32: He's an heir to the fortune his dad helped build when he founded Enterprise Products, and right now he's got about $5 billion to his name.
