Iginla Breaks Record in Flames' Win

Posted Mar 11, 08 5:12 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Jarome Iginla managed to overshadow Calgary's 7-3 creaming of St. Louis with a single goal: his 365th, which puts him first on the Flames' all-time scoring list. The power-play goal came near the end of the first period with the Blues down 2-1, as Iginla let one fly from the left faceoff circle, the Calgary Herald reports.

Alex Tanguay had the Flames' first and last goals, starting just  21 seconds into the game and wrapping up the commanding lead 15:09 into the third period. Tanguay's second score was one of two short-handed goals for Calgary, which never had much trouble staying ahead of the Blues. What milestone is next for Iginla? "To win a Stanley Cup," he said.
