A CNN reporter has been suspended for two weeks after tweeting her two cents about a House bill that would make it harder for Syrian and Iraqi refugees to enter the US. On Thursday, global affairs correspondent Elise Labott tweeted a link to coverage of the bill along with this note: "House passes bill that could limit Syrian refugees. Statue of Liberty bows head in anguish." Critics, including a Washington Post media reporter, complained about the bias, and CNN apparently agreed, per Politico. "It was wrong of me to editorialize. My tweet was inappropriate and disrespectful. I sincerely apologize," Labott later tweeted. (More CNN stories.)
