Gay-Porn Titan Embraces Politics

Posted Mar 21, 08 6:58 PM CDT in Arts & Living Politics

(Newser) – Michael Lucas is a successful entrepreneur with a burning interest in politics—not unusual, except that he made his fortune in gay porn. The actor-director-producer, a New York nightlife stalwart, is also a self-proclaimed pundit. The New Republic checks in with the outspoken blogger, who bashes liberal gays who “side with burqa-wearing, jihad-screaming, Koran-crazed Muslims.”

The secular Jewish neocon—and former prostitute—enthusiastically supports Israel and describes the Koran as "today's Mein Kampf" even as he cranks out apolitical films. The man behind the well-received 2006 porn epic La Dolce Vita once staged a live sex show in Tel Aviv, offering free admission to Israeli soldiers, a la “American USO-style shows,” he says.
