Barack Obama is inspiring tropical love songs, the Miami Herald reports, and the tunes—from Trinidad calypso king the Mighty Sparrow’s Barack the Magnificent to Jamaican reggae fixture Cocoa Tea’s Barak Obahama—are firing up YouTube. Sparrow's fluttered into politics before, with Doh Touch Meh President inspired by the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Cocoa Tea sings in his tribute, “This is not about class nor color, race nor creed. Make no mistake it’s the changes … what the Americans need.” But, the Herald points out, Obama Girl might yet have more influence than either: She’s the only one who can vote.
