Minnesota Sen. Al Franken and comedian Sarah Silverman introduced Paul Simon before his performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," with Silverman giving an impassioned speech about how she was a Bernie Sanders supporter, yet how Hillary Clinton had "heard the passion of the people" and incorporated it into the Democratic Party's platform, earning Silverman's vote.

But as Simon prepped backstage, Silverman and Franken were instructed to fill time, at which point Silverman delivered an off-the-cuff line that FiveThirtyEight.com pegged as the "generated the biggest cheer of the night." "Can I just say, to the Bernie-or-Bust people, you're being ridiculous." "They told us to stretch, so I figured I'd add that," she noted to Franken as the crowd roared.
