(Newser) Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween had a little trick in store for Tom Cruise and his Jack Reacher sequel, Never Go Back, with Madea ruling the box office with $27.6 million to Reacher's $23 million. "The star power of Madea and Tyler Perry is undeniable," a comScore analyst tells USA Today. "It's perfectly timed and perfectly themed and it just paid off. Tom Cruise is used to being No. 1, but in this case, Madea was a very formidable competitor." Horror flick Ouija: Origin of Evil chimed in at No. 3 with $14.1 million, with The Accountant close behind with $14 million and fourth place; The Girl on the Train rounded out the top five with $7.3 million.
