Russia may have undermined American democracy in a historic way, but Britain's royal family is having issues too. Apparently, reports of a rift between the Duke of York and Prince of Wales so angered the Duke of York that he released what the Telegraph calls an "extraordinary public statement" via his Twitter account. The Evening Standard reports it was said that the Duke of York was trying to get the Queen to make earls of any men his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, married in the future. He also allegedly wanted bigger public roles for the princesses.

In his "rare public statement," the Duke of York denied any split between him and the Prince of Wales over the princesses, the Independent reports. He says reports to the contrary are "completely made up" and that "continued speculation is pointless." He says he's happy for his daughters to be "modern working young women," and the Duchess of York asks for people to please "stop bullying the York family." So there you have it.
