Home prices in the Bay Area are some of the most out of control in the nation—and new figures from Zillow show just how out of control they've gotten. A median down payment of 20% on a house in metro San Jose is now $192,320, the Mercury News reports. That would get you the whole house elsewhere in the country. The national median value of a home is $192,500; it's $961,600 in San Jose. (More real estate stories.)
