(Newser) – Trying to figure out where to go to college? Just like living in close proximity to tweed-clad-professorial types? The American Institute for Economic Research has ranked the top 20 college towns in the US based on things like youth unemployment, rent, arts and entertainment, diversity, bars and restaurants, and innovation. Here are the 10 college towns that top the AIER's list:

  1. Boulder, Colo.
  2. Champaign-Urbana, Ill.
  3. Flagstaff, Ariz.
  4. Ithaca, NY
  5. Iowa City, Iowa
  6. Bloomington, Ind.
  7. College Station, Texas
  8. Manhattan, Kan.
  9. Columbia, Mo.
  10. Bloomington, Ill.
