First Brad Pitt dished to GQ; now Angelina Jolie is spilling to Vanity Fair. In a September cover story for the latter, Jolie speaks on her upcoming projects, domestic life, and (of course) her ex, with the Hollywood Reporter noting the "actress, filmmaker, humanitarian, and mother of six" has used the publication before as a way to get her message out. Jolie spikes rumors that her and Pitt's "nomadic" lifestyle was a contributing factor to their relationship demise (some say Pitt wanted a "more stable, normal life"), and that their "very brave" kids are now "healing … from things in life," not necessarily the divorce itself. "I think it's very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them," she says about how she handles herself for their sake, based on how worried she used to be about her own mother as a child. "They need to know that everything's going to be all right even when you're not sure it is."

As for her status with Pitt, which Vanity Fair notes spurred a carefully phrased answer: "We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal." One surprising revelation: Jolie mentions she developed Bell's palsy—an often-temporary condition that weakens or paralyzes facial muscles—last year, which made one side of her face sag; Jolie says her case cleared up thanks to acupuncture. As for what she thinks about right before she drops off to sleep at night: "Did I do a great job as a mom or was that an average day?" She mentions she's happily spent recent months tending to her kids and LA home—she lists "picking up dog poop" as one of her regular duties—but she also confesses to feeling restless: "Now I need to get my boots on and go hang, take a trip." The full cover story here. (Some are criticizing one part of the VF story in which Jolie describes how she cast her latest movie.)
