Cops: Stop Calling 911 About Halloween Display

Police in Greene County, Tenn., have asked the public to stop calling 911 about a Halloween decoration that may be a tad too early—and too realistic. The sheriff's department has notified the public that what looks like a body crushed by a garage door is a puppet stuffed with straw, the Greeneville Sun reports.

"THIS IS A HALLOWEEN DECORATION! Do NOT call 911 reporting a dead body," the department said in a Facebook post. "Instead, congratulate the homeowner on a great display." The department says officers investigated after receiving multiple calls about a "suspicious person lying in a driveway with bloody handprints on the garage," reports the BBC.
