Former Knick Mark Jackson may be the logical frontrunner to step into Isiah Thomas' old shoes, despite Jackson's lack of coaching experience. Jeff Van Gundy has suggested that the hiring process is a "one-horse race," effectively taking himself out of consideration. The other potential candidate, Scott Skiles, seems likely to sign with the Bucks, writes the New York Daily News.
Jackson is currently doing analysis for the NBA playoffs on ABC, and could potentially meet with Knicks' owner Donnie Walsh this week. The native New Yorker has a relationship with Walsh that goes back to their time with the Pacers, and Jackson has said the job intrigues him. But the Bulls are in the market, and other teams may soon be as well.
