The American Political Science Association is out with a new ranking of US presidents for Presidents' Day, but don't expect the current White House occupant to be celebrating the results. Donald Trump finishes dead last in the assessment of 170 members of the group, made up of Democrats, Republicans, and independents. In a New York Times op-ed about the results, professors Brandon Rottinghaus and Justin S. Vaughn note that many presidents start low in the rankings only to make up ground later, and Trump has plenty of time to do so. He has a ways to go to catch Abe Lincoln, however, who finished at No. 1. The top 10 follow:

  1. Abe Lincoln (95 out of 100)
  2. George Washington (93)
  3. Franklin D. Roosevelt (89)
  4. Teddy Roosevelt (81)
  5. Thomas Jefferson (80)
  6. Harry Truman (75)
  7. Dwight Eisenhower (74)
  8. Barack Obama (71)
  9. Ronald Reagan (69)
  10. Lyndon Johnson (69)
Click for the full rankings and more nuggets, including the fact that Obama jumped from 18th place since the last ranking in 2014. (More President Trump stories.)
