As you'd expect of a former Paralympian, Oscar Pistorius fought hard until the end—though without the result he wanted. A March 28 ruling by South Africa's Supreme Court, released Monday, rejects Pistorius' request to appeal his 13-year jail sentence for the 2013 murder of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, handed down in November after prosecutors objected to an initial six-year sentence. "This is the end of the road. There are no other legal options available," a rep for the National Prosecuting Authority tells AFP. Pistorius, 31, will be eligible for parole in 2023 at the earliest, reports Sports Illustrated. (More Oscar Pistorius stories.)
