The good news for Brandi Chastain is that she got inducted into the San Francisco Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame on Monday for her soccer prowess. The bad news is that much of the attention is focusing on her plaque, which bears an image of her that is, as she diplomatically puts it, "not the most flattering," per the San Jose Mercury News. But "it's nice," added Chastain, who once provided the sports world with a more enduring image—her rip-the-shirt-off celebration after a World Cup win in 1999. (See it in the photo gallery.) Some reaction to the new plaque:

  • "Brandi Chastain is one of the most beautiful athletes I’ve ever covered," writes Ann Killion, a sports columnist at the San Francisco Chronicle. "How this became her plaque is a freaking embarrassment for BASHOF."
