Hot Miley Pix: Mistake or Career Move?

Posted Apr 30, 08 2:03 PM CDT in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – As tween queen Miley Cyrus deals with continuing fallout from provocative Vanity Fair photos, some industry insiders are wondering aloud if the shots were really a mistake—or a calculated career move. Though Cyrus, 15, claims she was duped by photographer Annie Liebowitz, others believe the sultry shots may have been a ploy to rope boys and men into her market, reports Time.

"It seems to be a strategic career move," said an agent. "She's already queen of the tweens, so now they need to make her queen of the teen boys." One shot feature a tousled, ostensibly naked Miley loosely clutching a satin sheet, and another had her posed Lolita-like on her hunky dad's lap. A Vanity Fair spokeswoman said Miley's adult reps were always present, and they had easy access to the digital shots.
