It was a pickup game that went seriously awry. Fox 5 reports that during a casual Monday night game of basketball at an LA Fitness in Sterling, Virginia, a player was blocked by someone on the opposite team and fell to the floor. Then things fell apart. "Today for the first time in my life...I experienced someone call the police because they got fouled hard in basketball," reads a tweet accompanying a photo of the two players involved and the responding sheriff's deputies.

The man who went tumbling during the game reportedly stormed out and to the front desk, where a worker placed a call to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. ABC News reports the incident report referenced an "assault," but the situation didn't escalate into charges. The men were reportedly warned, however, that they needed to "keep the game civil" or they'd be tossed out of the gym for the day. Then came what Fox 5 calls the "perhaps most bizarre" element of the incident: The men went back to the court and finished the game. (More basketball stories.)
