Indians Rally Past Mariners in 11

Posted May 2, 08 12:07 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Asdrubal Cabrera broke an 0-for-14 slump with a bases-loaded single in the 11th inning to give the Cleveland Indians a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners last night. Jhonny Peralta drew a one-out walk off Mark Lowe (1-2). Travis Hafner then doubled to left and Jamey Carroll was hit by a 1-2 pitch to load the bases.

The Mariners took the lead in the 10th when Richie Sexson hit his 300th career homer off of Masa Kobayashi (2-0). Cleveland tied it in the bottom half on a bases-loaded walk to Grady Sizemore by Seattle closer JJ Putz who blew his second save of the season. Indians starter Paul Byrd gave up four hits and struck out four over 7 2-3 shutout innings.
