Jenna Bush Gets Married at Dad's Ranch

Posted May 10, 08 8:29 PM CDT in Politics US

(Newser) – First daughter Jenna Bush wed longtime boyfriend Henry Hager today at the presidential ranch in Crawford, Texas, the Fort-Worth Telegram reports. About 200 guests attended, but the press was not on the invitation list. In Crawford, one San Antonio woman reveled in the moment despite her distance from the 1,600-acre ranch. "Even though you can't see it, you can breathe the same air they are breathing," she said.

Jenna's sister Barbara was maid of honor, and 14 girlfriends dressed in seven Texas wildflower colors made up the wedding's "house party." The low-key event marks an unusually cheerful moment in a presidency marred by economic woes, terrorism, and war, the Telegram notes.
