(Newser) – A livid judge ordered Paris Hilton to appear in court today, prompting speculation that the heiress may be headed back behind bars after a night of beauty rest at her Hollywood Hills mansion. Prosecutors charged that the sheriff who released her for mysterious "medical" reasons after just three days was in contempt of court.

The sentencing judge—the same one she'll see today—gave explicit, handwritten orders that she not be allowed to trade her 45 days in lockup for cushy house arrest or work release. A member of the jail's medical team tells the New York Post Paris was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
