(Newser) – Dan Patrick will join NBC's Football Night in America this fall, in a move that reunites him with Keith Olbermann. The two men changed the field of sportscasting with their 1992 debut on ESPN's SportsCenter, writes Broadcasting & Cable. Patrick will keep his radio show and Sports Illustrated column while joining host Bob Costas at Football Night.

NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol describes Patrick and Olbermann as "one of the greatest teams in the history of sports broadcasting," who "defined the way sports highlights are now delivered." The duo will reprise the role starting this fall, and as Patrick jokes, “I will do the highlights for the red states, Keith will do them for the blue states.”

Together with Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick made SportsCenter one of the greatest sports shows in broadcast history. The two will team up again on NBC to cover NFL highlights.
