The Associated Press has pulled a video described as depicting a tornado that hit Nebraska last weekend after a storm chaser claimed that it was faked. After Andy Fabel sold the clip to the AP, which passed it along to 2,000 websites, another man noticed similarities between it and his own footage of a twister that hit Kansas 4 years ago.

The new image appears to have been flipped and sped up, with trees removed and power lines added in. "Based on evidence provided to us, we believe that the video was not authentic," says an AP higher-up. Although Fabel told networks his footage was authentic, "There was enough evidence for us to make it suspect," says an NBC producer. (More Associated Press stories.)
