(Newser) – Jimmy Fallon is launching his career as host of NBC's Late Night on the Internet, reports the New York Times. Late Night producer Lorne Michaels will produce 10-minute segments with Fallon for an online audience months before he takes over on TV from Conan O'Brien, who's set to replace Jay Leno on the Tonight Show.

“I’m going to post them at 12:30 every night so people will begin to look for Jimmy at that time,” said Michaels. “Conan needed time to find his show. I think this will help Jimmy to do that.” Michaels has not yet decided which site he'll use to post the shows.
