(Newser) – Hillary Clinton’s name will be formally entered in nomination at the Democratic convention later this month, Newsday reports. Clinton’s name will be placed in a roll-call vote for a symbolic recognition of her historic campaign—and as an olive branch from those hoping to lessen the resentment from supporters of her failed campaign.

"I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton's historic campaign in this way will help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion," said Barack Obama in a statement. Clinton, who praised the agreement, is scheduled to speak at the convention on Aug. 26th.
