It may seem wild that it took this long, but one of the Beatles is finally a billionaire in the UK, and he has Beyonce to (partially) thank. Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy, have popped up on this year's "Sunday Times Rich List," with a net worth of 1 billion pounds, or around $1.27 billion—a bump of 50 million pounds, or around $64 million, from 2023. That boost was helped along by Sir Paul's touring activity over the past year, money still pouring in from his music catalog, and Beyonce's cover of his "Blackbird," co-written with John Lennon, per the BBC.

The designation makes McCartney not only the first Beatle to achieve billionaire status in the UK, but also the first UK musician overall to do so. In the No. 1 spot on the Times' list is the Hinduja Group's Gopi Hinduja and his family, with a net worth of about 37 billion pounds, or $47 billion. Other entertainment personalities that made the list include singer Elton John, worth 470 million pounds, or nearly $600 million, and Harry Potter author JK Rowling, with a net worth of 945 million pounds—which would technically make her a billionaire in the US, converting to $1.2 billion.

The Times notes that about $64 million of McCartney's cash comes from Nancy McCartney, the daughter of late trucking tycoon Mike Shevell. McCartney's wealth may see another infusion over the summer: One Hand Clapping, a live studio album that the 81-year-old recorded with Wings in 1974 for a documentary project that was never released, will finally reach fans in June.
