Palin Ties Iraq to 9/11 Attacks

Tells deploying troops mission is to 'defend innocent from enemies' who planned strikes

(Newser) – In her speech yesterday to Iraq-bound troops in Alaska—a brigade that includes her oldest son, Track—Palin linked the war in Iraq with the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Washington Post reports, making a connection the Bush administration has long since stopped making. She said the soldiers' mission is to "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."

While the view that Saddam Hussein had helped the terrorists plan the 9/ll attacks was once promoted by the Bush administration, the White House and the president himself have since rejected the claim. But insurgents allied with al-Qaeda now operating in Iraq have taken root there since the US invasion, the Post notes.

Poor, sorry Sarah..she's just a few years late in her understanding of the "innocent" which would now be most of the Iraqi citizens who just want a normal life, with freedom of choice, et al.. The Taliban's infiltration of their country now makes that very difficult. Imagine if King Bush had gathered all the countries in sympathy with America IMMEDIATELY after 9-11 and blanketed Afghanistan with troops and obliterated the al Qaeda and bin Liden and/or followed them into Iraq and Pakistan? Instead the great "decider" jerked around looking for "weapons of mass destruction" so he could then attack oil rich Iraq. And so, 9 years later...the Taliban...al Qaeda and.....well....??? Having Sarah comment on world events, politics, history, et al is akin to a bull in a china shop except with her it's spelled "bulls---!"
