McCain Running 'Dishonorable' Campaign: Ad

Posted Sep 16, 08 11:23 AM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – Barack Obama has launched a new ad accusing John McCain of running a “disgraceful, dishonorable campaign,” part of a wider pushback against Republican attacks, the Washington Post reports. With McCain pulling even in the polls, the campaign held a series of internal strategy meetings, including a rare Sunday get-together in Chicago, and emerged pledging to leave no assault unanswered.

Though Obama will take a sharper tone towards his adversary, he will primarily stick to articulating his campaign’s vision, policies and themes, while running mate Joe Biden throws the majority of the elbows. Yesterday, Biden lamented McCain’s tactics, saying he barely knew his old friend. “The very same people and the tactics he once deplored, his campaign now employs,” he said.

"He can attack if he wants," John McCain said yesterday of Barack Obama's sharper tone. "All the insults in the world aren't going to bring change to Washington."   (AP Photo)
