Lobbyist Denies McCain Affair

Vicki Iseman lashed out at the New York Times and a former John McCain adviser for the February story that implied an affair occurred between her and the Republican candidate, the National Journal reports. “I did not have a sexual relationship with Sen. McCain,” Iseman says. In fact, the lobbyist amplifies, “I have never even been alone with Sen. McCain.”

Iseman says that she answered several questions for the Times, but most were left out of its final story. She also blames John Weaver, a former McCain strategist who was ousted from the campaign in July. Iseman believes Weaver had an “axe to grind” and manipulated the Times reporters investigating the story like “marionettes.” (More affair stories.)
