Thomas Caught in Sleeping Pill OD Denial

Despite police and media reports to the contrary, Isiah Thomas is denying claims he was hospitalized yesterday for overdosing on sleeping pills, the New York Post reports. The NBA great says his teenage daughter was treated after a school “incident,” but an employee there said the school “knows of no incident regarding a student and police.”

The police chief on the case minced no words in refuting Thomas’ denial, the New York Times reports. “He is lying,” he said. “It was definitely not his daughter, it was a male." He later told the AP, “Why they're throwing her under the bus is beyond my ability to understand." Sources told the Post that Thomas, whose stomach was pumped, was unconscious when paramedics arrived.
