(Newser) – The woman who claimed a Barack Obama supporter carved a “B” into her cheek has agreed to probation and counseling and won't serve time, the AP reports. Ashley Todd was released from jail in Pittsburgh today, and her record will be scrubbed clean if she completes a psychiatric treatment program, the AP reports. "Our focus was really, 'This is somebody who appeared to have some mental issues,'" the prosecutor said.

I think what she needed mostly was counseling. The only one she actually hurt was herself, although there could have been so many other ramifications based on her actions. - Assistant Police Chief Maurita Bryant

Imagine if this had been an Obama supporter! It would be on Fox News day and night. Did they even mention it at all after they found out the truth about it?

LOL, this is really funny. When the story first broke Fox news and the McCain campaign was all on it, but once it was determined the story was false, (c'mon, a backwards B), both Fox and McCain kicked her to the curb. I even remember the story of Gov. Palin calling her family when the story first broke, friggin hilarious.

The backwards B was so obvious. I wonder if she started out as a supporter.
