Feds Won't Charge Spitzer

Not enough evidence against former NY governor in prostitution case

Share

(Newser) – Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer will not be charged in connection with his involvement in a prostitution ring, the New York Times reports, as federal prosecutors could not adequately connect payments made by Spitzer. “The public interest would not be further advanced by filing criminal charges in this matter,” the US attorney for New York said in a written statement.

Once Again, a person of means walks . A regular person would be in jail by now. Hopefully his wife walked also. This makes me wonder what happened to the whores(I know escorts, but a whore is a whore is a whore,no matter how you sell it honey.) . How much jail time did they serve ?This guy was a US attorney ,tough on crime and all that so it was not a stretch he thought , like so many involved in law enforcement . I enforce the law , I know the law and I will live as it applies to others not me. This shows the disenfranchised public once again these people are right. The public interest would have been served by Mr Spitzer paying the tab this investigation cost . Although FBI agents are not paid what they deserve this investigation must have cost over $100k how is this in the public interest to let him walk FREE(no charges ,No cost except to his wife and children, the people of NY,USA and the $100k plus the public must eat. I would like ask the US Attorney why the public should pick up this cost.No wonder he made a written statement the press cant ask a statement questions. Reply
