(Newser) – In a sweep of pre-holiday cuts, ABC has decided to pull the plug on Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, and Eli Stone after the current season, reports E! Online. Daisies executive producer Bryan Fuller says plans are in the works for a comic book and feature film to continue the storyline of a pie-maker who can bring the dead back to life.

To be honest, I'm really not feeling very boo hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. - Bryan Fuller, Pushing Daisies executive producer

I think the writers’ strike did it. I think that the ratings for all the shows are poor this year and it’s not what the networks were hoping for. I’m not sure why ABC decided to axe our show. - Pushing Daisies star Kristin Chenoweth
