(Newser) – Police in Little Rock say forensic evidence led them to a suspect in the murder of news anchor Anne Pressly, reports KATV. A DNA sample from Pressly's home matched DNA found at the scene of an unsolved rape in Marianna, 90 miles away. Marianna police pointed investigators to rape suspect Curtis Vance, whose DNA sample matched that from both crime scenes.

"We have a very solid case against Mr Vance," a Little Rock policeman said. Vance will now face charges of rape and residential burglary as well as the capital murder charge for Pressly's slaying. The 28-year-old is being held without bond.

When you have DNA evidence, that's pretty irrefutable. Ideally we would like to have a confession and spare the agony of a trial.

It's called DNA. The chances of it being wrong are less than one in a million.

I dont understand how they have this man so quickly in custody. I sure hope he is the right one,and they are not just out to satisfy the media with an innocent man. Too many innocent people railroaded. Read The Innocent Man by John Grisholm, Hard to beleive the prosecutor is not on death row for this one in Oklahoma.
