Remains Resemble Caylee

(Newser) – A former attorney for Caylee Anthony's grandparents says investigators think the remains of a young child found near her home belong to the missing 3-year-old, the Orlando Sentinel reports. But a lawyer for the Sherriff’s Department said they have not yet made even a tentative identification of the body. The judge in Anthony’s murder case also denied the defense a request to be present when the body is examined.

Though investigators declined to make a positive identification, they were glad to finally have a crime scene. “We were looking for a needle in a haystack, and we didn't even have the haystack,” a spokesman said. “Now we have a haystack.” The defense will be permitted to inspect the area where the body was found as early as tonight. The remains will soon be shipped to an FBI lab for DNA testing.

Just when you think the duct tape will be Casey's undoing with its ability to keep fingerprints intact, the family says Zanny the Nanny had a key to their house and probably sneaked in at some point, got a trash bag from the house and probably duct tape too and put Caylee in one of their own trash bags when she was murdered and dumped her close to the Anthonys' home to make it look even worse for Casey. You can't make this stuff up. One question remains: If Casey was in some sort of danger from Zanny et al that made her fearful of going to the cops when Caylee first went missing, why was she (Casey) so ready with the name of the nanny who supposedly took the child? Why didn't she keep that a secret too in order to shield her family? Why supply a name but nothing else of any real value in helping the cops locate the nanny?

God willing the body that was found is Caylee's and can finally be put to rest.
