Crime-Scene Photo May Show Caylee's Book

(Newser) – One of the police photos from the site of the Caylee Anthony investigation shows an object that could be a book she was reading shortly before her death, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Editors at the paper spotted the yellowish object in the photo and asked police about it, but authorities declined to comment on any potential significance, or even on whether they had noticed it. The photo is grainy and not a close-up, so the object could just as easily be a random piece of garbage, the Sentinel notes.

The photo turned up after police called a news conference in the afternoon to announce that more bones had been found and that the search area was being expanded. Police also said the tipster who led them to the remains first phoned in about them in August. Police followed up at the time and found nothing and are now investigating their response.
