Ann Coulter parlayed her non-appearance on NBC’s Today Show yesterday into a session with Matt Lauer this morning, Hamilton Nolan writes on Gawker. “She is that person you didn't want to invite to the party, but did, and then wished you hadn't,” writes Nolan. Fully two minutes of the interview are dedicated to discussing why Coulter lost her original spot to Tony Blair. Suffice to say, no agreement was reached.

Jeff Bercovici, in Portfolio, was tougher. “The National Review won’t have anything to do with her, for God’s sake, but NBC News is only too happy to let her conduct a smear campaign against it and lecture its anchors on the air about their shortcomings. And in exchange for what—the right to be the second morning show to interview noted thinker Ann frigging Coulter about her book?” (More Ann Coulter stories.)
