Doctor Didn't Recognize Own Dad After Beating

Only found out later she'd treated him; he later died

(Newser) – Dr. Shirley Domingo didn’t recognize the savagely beaten man she treated in the Intensive Care Unit Tuesday at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. It wasn’t until her brother called later that evening that she realized the truth: It was her own father. “It was a shock,” she said yesterday at a press conference, tears on her face.

The father, Damaso Domingo, died Thursday from injuries sustained in the attack. “He was a kind, gentle person,” Shirley said. “I can’t imagine why anyone would do this to him.” Nor can police. Domingo was beaten by two unidentified assailants near his home. Police called it a “senseless crime,” saying robbery wasn’t believed to be the motive. “We really want to find these two,” one sergeant said.

(NEWSER) - What a heel. A sicko with a foot fetish is prowling the streets of an Arkansas town hunting for toes to suck. "We want him off the streets," said a Conway police spokesman. He rather aggressively removed the shoe of one elderly woman sitting on her porch and began to suck her toes when she told him he was crazy. He fled as people approached, according to police. Another woman was approached by a man who told her he wanted to suck her "succulent" toes. She told police that the man had "messed up toes." 'It's America bullying at its worst,' says police superintendent

(NEWSER) - Seven teenagers have been arrested for beating up a screaming schoolmate in a Philly suburb and taping the attack on a cell phone. The victim is dragged on the ground, kicked and punched, stuffed up a tree and finally hung from a metal fence by his jacket. "They could have killed that kid, impaling him by the neck on that metal barrier," said the local police superintendent. "This kid was screaming for help and they beat him. It's bullying in America at its worst." The victim said he "tried to escape, but they attacked me and caught me again."
